Lazy Saturday

Today Nate and I spent our first winter day cuddled up in our apartment all day. The only time we left was to get drive through McDonalds...it was a fabulous day.

We woke up around 10:00 this morning and moved all the way to our couch in the living room. Our friends Scott and Emma convinced us last night that we should invest some money into a Netflix subscription. One nice thing about Netflix for us is that we're able to hook up our laptop to our tv and watch movies instantly from the Netflix website. (Netflix should be paying me right now for name-dropping them about a half dozen times) We added some movies to our queue list, and then started watching some of our own. I know a lot of you will think this is super pathetic, but Nate and I watched four movies today. Yes, four. The first one we watched was Bridge to Teribithia. It was a nice movie, really let out your imagination...but had kind of a crappy ending. The second movie we watched was Superbad, it was super-lame (haha funny joke). The third was a movie neither of us had ever heard of called Outsourced. It's about a VP in a sales company who gets sent to India to help their outsourced call center get their performance up. It was a fantastic movie but we weren't too crazy about the ending on that one either. In between the 3rd and 4th movie we decided to run to McDonald's for our early dinner. It made me feel kind of bloated and unhealthy, which is to be expected from eating there, but it's Monopoly time at McDonald's again and Nate and I already have two out of the three red-orange pieces so we were pretty excited about that! If any of you have any red-orange pieces you've got to let us know and we can all split the $5000! Anyway, the 4th movie we watched was Across the Universe which is such a great movie! Nate and I have both seen it before but we really enjoyed it again! We gave it 5 stars.. We just love all the music and the renditions of the Beatles songs...so great - we highly recommend it to everyone!

I'm trying really hard to keep up with the blogging thing, I know I fell behind a little bit the past couple of weeks, but I'm trying to catch up again. Nate's brother, Jake, leaves on his mission in a little over a month! It's exciting for him but a little sad too, it will be weird to just have it be me, Nate, and Jared. Things will probably be pretty quiet for the next year. Justin's almost halfway through! A week from yesterday will be his one year mark! Yay for Justin! It will be so great when he comes home, life will be super fun again! Everyone knows it, things just aren't the same when Justin's not around. And the same will go for Jake too, he's just so fun all the time and it's really fun for me and Nate to be able to double with Jake and one of the many girls he goes out with these days!

Anywho, it's getting sort of late and, of course, Nate and I are stuck with morning church now so I think I'm going to call it a night. Hope all of our blog-readers are doing well!

Bears and Cities

The "Hood" ain't good for nobody yo!
This is from a study done by livescience.com. "As bears spend more time near cities, they gain weight, get pregnant at a younger age and die young, violent deaths." I just had to share that. I guess we will have to send them all to planned parenthood and ban guns or something.

Thursday.

Today started out as a very bad day...I wont go into detail but let's just say I felt completely retarded at work - and gross - because I had to go to physical therapy and then straight to work...so it just didn't start out as a very good day. Work was crappy until about 3:00 when I received a very anticipated phone call. Jill, from Bath & Body Works called and...I GOT THE JOB AT B&BW!! I'm so excited! It hasn't really processed through my brain that I'll be working 60-65 hours a week, but I've done it before and I'm sure I can handle it.

I start next Wednesday and I can't wait to learn how to do that job! How exciting! I'm especially excited for my amazing discounts! 30% off at Bath & Body Works and 20% off at Victoria's Secret! Good thing I don't have a credit card with them anymore because I would totally go into debt all over again.

Tonight, Nate's parents and grandparents came up and took us out for dinner. It was nice and tasty and fun! Overall, my day ended up to be a pretty good day. Also, if none of you have heard of Flight of the Conchords, you need to look them up STAT! Look them up on YouTube - you will not be disappointed. Goodnight!

Go Nate and Go Aggies!!

Well - today was a pretty fantastic day. When Nate got home from his test today at about 12:30 - he came home with great news! He passed his test everybody! Yay! I am so happy for him and we had such a great day! He was so relieved and now he can go a couple of days without worrying about flying and tests and everything! What a great weekend. We went to Olive Garden to celebrate and after that we decided we would go to the Utah State football game. We assumed we would only stay through the first half, or until we were down by 50, which ever came first. But - to our pleasant surprise - we actually won the whole game! I think the final score was like 42 - 17 and we were so happy. Granted, we played like, literally, the worst team in the nation - and I heard we were 4th to last or something like that. So, lucky for us - we actually proved we were a little bit better than Idaho. I haven't added any pictures recently so here's one!

Tomorrow is the Day!!

I just wanted to make a quick announcement that tomorrow morning Nate will be doing his government flight test tomorrow to become a real commercial pilot! For those of you who don't know what that means - it means that tomorrow afternoon - you can pay Nate, legally, to fly you around! So - if anybody needs to fly anywhere - just let him know - we really need the money!!! So I'm just asking everyone to keep Nate in your thoughts and prayers and wish him the best of luck. We all know he can do a great job and pass with flying colors!!

That's pretty much the only exciting thing going on in our lives, other than that things are just the same as they've always been! I had an interview at Bath and Body Works the other day for a temporary holiday job - I hope I get that too! It'd be great to make a little extra money for Christmas time, plus that way all of our friends and family would get really great Christmas presents from us this year!

Other than those couple of things our lives are pretty mundane. I hope you all are doing well and it's great to be back in the blogging world!

Thanks for the Feedback!

So the last time I posted I got a ton of feedback and comments from all my fellow bloggers out there! So thank you all for helping to motivate me to keep right on blogging!

I have been trying SO HARD to find a nice desk lately to put in our entry way closet so we could use that closet as an office space instead of an ugly closet. So, like I said, I've been looking everywhere and I can't seem to find one. Do any of you know where there's a place that sells cheap furniture other than Ikea? And wal-mart? Or do you know of anyone who has a nice littler desk they'd like to give away or sell? I should just hop onto Craig's List to see what they have on there but I just haven't gotten around to it.

Nate passed his latest flight checkride on Friday last week - so we're pretty excited about that! Way to go, Nate! Speaking of great things that Nate does - Nate found this video this past weekend and it has brought me great joy. I would like to share it with you now

(I'm not as good as nate was at posing videos on here - so you'll just have to click on the link)

Some exciting news from Nate's family!! Jake - Nate's little brother - just got his mission call a couple weeks ago to the Italy, Milan mission! We're so happy for him and wish him the best of luck - he will do a great job!

Other than those two things - everything has been pretty mellow around here. I will update you later on this week with all the exciting happenings of our lives!

Back to School and Back to Cold!

The leaves are turning and the temperatures are dropping! Nate and I aren't sure if we can handle another winter here in Logan. Our goals are to use more blankets, and NOT use our thermostat. That probably wont last for too long.

Not a whole lot of exciting news these days. Nate is busy busy busy working and goign to school AND flying a couple times a week. I'm working full-time for a company called Conservice - I've worked there for a month so far and I'm still really clueless about what I'm doing exactly.

I don't know if any of you have been paying much attention to the election lately - but I'm pretty anxious to see what happens in November! I'm a republican - so obviously I'm voting McCain/Palin - I think they're the best. I want to know who YOU all or voting for - maybe that's a personal question...but it's valid right?

I applied for another job a couple weeks ago and have an interview next week. Bath and Body Works - wish me luck! I want to work there way bad - I love their stuff and obviously - the discount is just an added bonus!

I'm really going to start making an effort at keeping up with this blog (again). Nate's cousin, April, told me that it's okay to just ramble because that's pretty much what everyone else does so I guess I'll take her advice! But I'll try to keep it interesting and entertaining for all of our readers! I hope everyone is having a great week/month/year whatever! I'll be in touch soon!

We're Baaaaaack!!!

I know I know I know I know!!! We're totally behind on or blog. We need to catch up! I don't really know where to start so I'll start with the most recent things that have happened to us. We have two cute little boys now!! :) Hamsters...not real babies. So don't worry everyone! We're not real parents yet. But they are seriously the cutest little things I've ever seen in my whole entire life! I'll post some videos and pictures of them later on but right now I just wanted to check in before I spend my whole day at the library catching up on my online classes. Wish me luck! I'm going to be there all day...

Nate doesn't know that I'm posting this today so I'll have to let him know that he needs to start catching up on our blog as well. He was a lot better at it than me from the start anyway.

So I hope all of our blog readers find themselves well and happy and enjoying this summer sunshine! We'll be in touch.

Street Preacher

Here in Logan, we have a famous Street Preacher to our city. He stands on the corner of 10th and Main rain or snow and preaches about how we are all going to hell. The funny part is you would think that he is crazy, but when you talk to him, he acts completely normal and can have a full converstion. Well for the last month or so he has not been there. A lot of people have wondered why. Well I just read in the paper that he was arrested on a minor traffic violation and that he is in jail for thirty days. The most interesting part of the story is that they found out that he is actually an illegal alien and now when he finishes his jail stay he will probably be deported. How about that for bringing the immigration issue to your door step?
