Physics

I got my physics test back today...............101%. I did not expect this, but I won't argue. I now officially have an A. Also, if you are interested, from applying physics that I have learned and a bunch of the formulas I have seen I figured out how your snowboard or skis slide down the hill so well. I won't bore you with the math, but essentially your snowboard or skis heat a small layer of ice to water and this gives you the sliding. The friction of the H2O and the material of your snowboark/skis heats it. When I say heat, this is relative because the small layer of water will only be 0 degrees C because all the work goes into the latent heat of the fusion of ice. Latent heat of the fusion of ice means that the work done goes into changing the state of H20 and not changing the temperature. This means that water will never heat above 0 degrees C unless all the ice is gone. The coefficient of heat of water is small which means it takes a small amount of work (friction) to heat this layer. I have gone through the math out of curiousity, but like I said I will not bore you despite the fact that I just did.
